Tom Allan

Hi, my name's Tom. I have been a PT for nearly six years. In that time, I have worked in many different places. I have worked as a mobile PT, online, in Saudi Arabia and as a boot camp Instructor before coming to PureGym.

I have been lucky to work with people from all walks of life to help them achieve their health and fitness goals. I pride myself on being able to adapt my approach to suit the person I am working with. My philosophy is that whoever you are, we can make fitness fun for you!

There is a common misconception about Personal Trainers. People often think that we have always been fit and healthy, we always eat the right foods and exercise all the time. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I have struggled for much of my life with alcoholism, drug addiction, smoking, lack of exercise and an unhealthy diet. This has meant that I have found it hard to maintain my health and fitness. I know what it is like to feel at the depth of despair because of this, not knowing where to turn. This is what drives me to do whatever I can to help other people change their lives around.

I have over five years’ experience in martial arts including Muay Thai, Submission Grappling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga and Boxing. During that time I spent three months in Thailand honing my skills. These days I enjoy a more peaceful approach to life through activities such as Meditation, Yoga and Qigong.
