Shola Akani
As a big advocate for improving mobility and core strength, I believe one should be able to efficiently move their bodies within a chosen plane of motion without pain or discomfort. So before any excessive loading I use body weighted exercises to mobilise and activate your joints and muscles. I use various modalities (e.g. kettlebells, bodybuilding, yoga and Pilates eccentric movements) to make your sessions both fun and challenging. Expect to be pushed beyond to what you are used to.

If I could describe what I do in four words:

My training style is largely influenced by optimising mobility, core and full body strength.
Experience and credibility:
I am educated to postgraduate level in the area of sports, exercise nutrition and health. Additionally, I have ten years' of experience working within gyms, five years working with sports supplements and two years working with student athletes
Tailored:
I use frequent assessments as a tool to inform my practice, such objectivity helps me look at every individual on a case by case basis to tailorise your programme to your specific needs. Thus, data gathered from an initial assessment (i.e. before commencing any training) will be the foundation of your training programme, and frequent assessments thereafter will allow for a proactive approach to modifications to elicit favourable results. I have been trained to do anything from aerobic to anaerobic, flexibility, mobility, strength and body composition testing.
Evidence-Based Practitioner:
I am able to use sports and nutrition management tools used within elite sports to aid facilitate changes to promote better recovery and training consistency. In the area of Nutrition. I can give expert levels of advice on changes you can choose to make to your diet.
Accessibility:
As well as training within the gym I PT in and around the Berkshire area as a mobile Personal Trainer.
