Aaron MacKenzie
The reason I got into the fitness industry was through my love of sport. Because I was training five times a week with my football club I struggled to put on any muscle and when my professional career ended due to injury I thought my career in the fitness industry was over. However, with the help of injury and rehabilitation work I found a new passion in the shape of personal training in which pushed my body to the limit in the gym. I really felt at home in the gym, seeing my body progress and change, but I didn't want to stop developing so I progressed my knowledge further by reading up on key areas of training and nutrition. I became so interested I went and studied a three-year diploma in health, fitness and nutrition.
My personal training journey also led to another passion - bodybuilding. I am now a Scottish men's physique competitor and will hopefully be at next year’s British Finals.
The biggest thrill of my job is seeing individuals grow not only physically but as a person through their training journey. One of the reasons I got myself into this business was being able to come into work every day and see individuals that were initially scared to step inside the door, but who now have confidence to smash their work-outs without fear.
