What the world is listening to during their home workouts
We know how important music is when working out. In fact, science has actually proven that listening to music when exercising can help improve endurance and your mood. So, it’s understandable that lots of people can spend hours curating the perfect playlist for their workout.
With many people around the world adjusting their fitness plans and adopting a home exercise routine right now, we have created our own home workout playlist - PureGym Home Workout - available on Spotify to help members stay active from home.
Listen to the playlist here:
The playlist combines 50 of the most popular workout songs so you have plenty of songs to tune into and help keep you motivated and energised when working out at home.
To find out what the most popular soundtrack is to a home workout we looked at Spotify data, analysing over 900 playlists with the words ‘exercise at home’, ‘home workout’ and ‘home exercise’ in the name. We then scoured the songs themselves, over 27,000, and totted up the most popular tracks and artists by seeing which ones were featured the most.
Most popular home workout songs
The data revealed that the most popular track to workout at home to is ‘Don’t Start Now’ by Dua Lipa, with this song being featured in 117 home workout playlists. Next on the list of songs you’re sweating to at home is ‘Blinding Lights’ by The Weeknd and ‘Stupid Love’ by Lady Gaga.
Some of the track names in the top 20 seem particularly suitable for a good home workout – with ‘Physical’ by Dua Lipa, ‘POWER’ and ‘Stronger’ by Kanye West and ‘Motivation’ by Normani all on the top 20 list.
